I read about your adventure in the Kalamazoo Gazette yesterday, about a month after you walked within a mile of my house. I wish I could have met you. Love the journals, best wishes on the rest of your trip!

I ran into you today about 5 miles North of Milford, OH. It's an honor to meet you! It's a shame I didn't know as much about your hike as I should have when I met you- come to find out I was in YOUR neck of the woods in 2011 when I hiked 6 of the mountains (and 50 miles of the trail) on the SHT. Beautiful country you have up there! I hope you enjoy the rest of your hike. 2900 miles down. Wow, well played!

I am glad you did not wait till you are 60. then it is to late. My wife and I did a cross country Tandem trip in 1987, when we were in the 50th, it was almost to late, 8000+miles and 5 1/2 month later. I still think about it every day. I am proud of you to this great trip. Jochen

Stirider: Finally found your blog after looking off & on for some time on hiking blog sites. Saw the video from David's Passage on FB tonite. Caught up with your April blogs & look forward to more. Read you worked on SHT - I hiked it in 1995 & wrote a book about it - Superior Journey: Diary of a Dream. I am a much slower hiker than you!! But older too. Have kept up somewhat on FB on the NCT site. Best of luck in the last 1/2 of trek! I look forward to rest of your blogs & will keep up w/ them now,

Hello Luke: I'm finally connecting with you. My friend Kippi, my husband Mark Lindsay and I (Nancy) met you in Conway Mich. the beginning of July. We were sitting at the Park Place Cafe off of Crooked Lake. It was such a pleasure meeting you and having you share your story with us. We wish you well in your journey. You're an amazing young man and will follow you along the way. Hope you meet many more trail angels...well deserved!

Mentioned you in an article on the Dayton City Paper today which talks about the trail network that goes through Ohio. Thought you'd like to see it, so here's the link. http://www.daytoncitypaper.com/hit-the-trails/ If you need a place to crash, shower, etc., in Dayton, hit me up.

Strider, you are my hero, man! I did my first 40+ on the NCT in Michigan's U.P. last fall with my brother and was hooked! My short term goal is to walk across the U.P...and then who knows from there. It was a great experience that most won't have or understand. That's more woods for us...that's what I say. I do want to know one thing...and maybe it's in your Journal. What's in your pack? Best of luck. I'll be following you!

I love reading your journal entries. Hope you add more. I didn't hear about this till you got to Lowell. I would have helped you out up in the Rockford MI area had I known! Good Luck.
