Hope things are going great, stay strong! I must admit - you've rapidly become a major source of inspiration in my life. Since my first day hikes of the Boardman River trails to my multi-day treks through stretches of NCT in the Jordan River Trail, Sand Lakes Quiet Area, and Manistee River Trail, your name keeps coming up when I research the NCT more and more. At 23 and with Summer winding down, I feel a distinct yearning to hike longer and longer treks, I've gained a lot of insight on the finer things to thru-hikes that weekend trips can't provide. So all I have to say is - look out! If I'm to set foot on one end and make it to the other, it'll be one big thanks to you, Strider. - 2015 hopeful

We talked in the visitor center in Grand Marais in June and I've been wondering how you're doing. Is there some way we can follow along? It seems the journal stalled out a day or two after we saw you.

Strider~ Bruce and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with you while you were in Cincinnati, traveling to and from CVG, our house, and the trail. Having already hiked 3,000 miles you are well on your way to becoming the fourth thru-hiker in history to complete the North Country Trail. Godspeed to you as you continue your adventure. You are one class act! Ladybug and Bruce

Strider - there was an article about you and your journey in the Kalamazoo Gazette Sunday (which I just read today) and I immediately went to your website and checked things out. I have just finished reading your journal, and like a good book, it is hard to stop but the journal entries ended. Looking forward to more posts, pictures/videos. Safe travels - it does my heart good to hear of folks helping you out along the way. Keep up the good hiking spirit!

Your journey is one of epic proportions Strider! A truly amazing goal. Wish I'd heard of your journey before now, I would've loved to packed a leg of the trail with you in my area. Best of luck and I hope there is more trail magic a head of you.

Wish I knew earlier that you were coming through the Battle Creek area, I would have bought you dinner! The NCT runs right in front of my house, and into the Kellogg tree Forest. All the Best...... Kathy

Best of luck to you on your journey. May your guardian angel be riding on your right shoulder and keep you from harm. I read the "Walk Series" books by Richard Paul Evans and found the adventures very interesting. Some day you'll tell your children about your journey!

You are my hero!! Good for you. We got married in the UP June 28th and spent our honeymoon hiking. The black flies and Mosquitos were so awful. We made our way to the same pizza place in Grand Marais. Agreed it is delicious! (Not better than Erbelli's Pizza in Kalamazoo). I wish you a safe journey.

I read about your adventure in the Kalamazoo Gazette yesterday, about a month after you walked within a mile of my house. I wish I could have met you. Love the journals, best wishes on the rest of your trip!
